When we think of feminism, most people think of liberals and the Democratic party. But the Republicans were actually the first party to endorse the Equal Rights Amendment. And at that time, the GOP was more supportive of women’s right to vote than the Democratic party.
This hour, we explore the history of feminism and conservatism from the suffrage movement through the Reagan era.
And we look at what's happening with the party today -- locally and nationally. The Trump administration has been labeled "anti woman." And because of low numbers, there’s an effort to recruit more women to run for office in the U.S. House of Representatives.
