Governor Hopefuls Make Moves To Impress Convention Delegates

Susan Bysiewicz
Chion Wolf

What moves do you make to break out of the pack in what's been a governor's race without any indisputable front-runners? If you're Susan Bysiewicz, you call out wealthy, largely self-funding fellow Democratic rival Ned Lamont for not participating in the state's public campaign finance system, which restricts candidate spending.

And if you're Erin Stewart, you tap Peter Tesei, the longtime first selectman in affluent Greenwich, to be your running mate.

Today, we mull over these strategies and more.

We'll also assess how Richard Robinson, Gov. Dannel Malloy's second choice to be chief justice, fared before state lawmakers at his confirmation hearing Monday. It's safe to say it was a lot less confrontational--and shorter-- than it was for Malloy's first pick, Andrew McDonald.

In addition, we discuss the collapse of the plan to consolidate the state's financially troubled community colleges.
