Ted Kennedy, Jr. Makes His First Bid For Political Office

Ted Kennedy Jr., son of the late U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy, is making his first bid for political office in Connecticut. But the campaign has not been without some controversy.

A little late in the game, at age 53, Democrat Ted Kennedy Jr. said he’s finally ready for the family business.

The nephew of President John F. Kennedy’s running for a state senate seat in Connecticut. He’s been a health care lawyer and an advocate for the disabled and the environment.

His opponent, Republican Bruce Wilson Jr., has accused Kennedy of exploiting a loophole in the state’s campaign finance law. Kennedy maintains he’s run a clean campaign from the start.

The candidates are vying for Connecticut’s 12th district, which includes the shoreline towns of Branford, Guilford and Madison.
