Torrington's Chorus Angelicus Joins Voices In The Virtual World To Send Message Of Compassion

Social distancing has musicians missing not only performances, but also the camaraderie and fun of just getting together to rehearse and make music.

Members of the Torrington-based children's choir Chorus Angelicus are no different. So in between Zoom rehearsals recently, they came together in the virtual world to record a song that has special meaning for all of them.

We depend on your support. Donate to Connecticut Public today.

As Chorus Angelicus Artistic Director Dr. Gabriel Löfvall explained, "Non Nobis Domine" is a round attributed to British renaissance composer Thomas Tallis, and it has very special meaning for the choir.

"Chorus Angelicus has used the song for almost 30 years." said Löfvall. "We sing it everywhere. When we want to say grace before a meal, when we are at music camp, when we want to thank a generous donor or organization, when we are on tour together. And now it has become a virtual choir project that we want to share with everyone to send our message of love, our message of compassion, and our message of staying strong together!"

Check out the stunning video below. I love the guinea pigs!
