Nonprofit CT libraries to discontinue passport application services

Stamford, Farmington, Ridgefield and Norwich have nonprofit libraries and all have confirmed they will stop accepting passport applications on Feb. 13.

A federal bill sponsored by Democratic Congressman Joe Courtney would consolidate Scotland’s has six zip codes, an uncommonly high number for a town of less than 1600 residents and only 600 addresses. “If you live in Scotland and your address is Hampton, and you're a woman in labor,” said George, “The last thing you're thinking about is, wait, that's my mailing address. So a lot of times we have our birth certificates, and until mom and dad come in looking for it, I don't even realize it's missing.” January 20, 2026.
