CT braces for potential major winter storm this weekend

Connecticut is bracing for the possibility of a substantial winter storm this weekend, bringing bitterly cold temperatures and several inches of snow into Monday morning.
Democrat Larry Pemberton, a member of the Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation is sworn into the CT House of Representatives in Hartford Connecticut on January 21, 2026. The Tribe says he's the first Native American elected to the General Assembly.

Sarah Callan is the manager of the animal rescue program at Mystic Aquarium. She and her team traveled to Colombia twice last year to contribute to a global effort focused on sea turtle conservation. Callan said she and her team are set to go on two more trips this year to continue the knowledge exchange between teams. Looking further ahead, Callan said she'd like to welcome the teams in Colombia to Mystic Aquarium one day. "I think that would be a really great exchange, and they can see what we do at our facilities and learn from each other that way as well," Callan said.
